We don’t all start at the same line—and that’s okay. What matters is what you do with where you begin. Growing up in Fresno, CA, I lived a reality shaped by poverty. It was an environment that demanded resilience, but that hunger became the engine for everything I’ve built since.
I am the daughter of a Palestinian immigrant father and a strong, hardworking Black American mother. Faith and discipline were my foundation, but my world experienced a total reality shift when I moved to Santa Barbara for middle and high school.
If you know Santa Barbara, you know it exists in a different stratosphere. It is consistently ranked as one of the wealthiest communities in the United States—a place of pristine coastlines and stunning architecture that felt like a different universe compared to my beginnings in Fresno. Seeing that gap every day didn't intimidate me; it fueled me. By 16, I was largely navigating life on my own, already intentional about the life I was going to create.
The Journey of a Builder
At 18, I moved to San Diego to plant my own roots. By 19, I opened my first Airbnb. From the very start, I was the one designing and staging my units, realizing I had a natural instinct for making a space feel like a high-end home. This creative drive helped me expand my short-term rental business into Arizona while I earned my degree in Psychology—a discipline that gave me a deep understanding of human behavior and communication.
My momentum only grew as I transitioned to Miami. I expanded my Airbnb and design portfolio into the Florida market and launched my own talent and modeling agency. Successfully operating an agency in such a competitive city sharpened my business acumen and my ability to close complex deals. I also worked in high-end hospitality, mastering the art of elite client relations. Following my time in Miami, I moved into commercial lending in New York and Connecticut, specializing in securing business loans for people who couldn't qualify on their own—fighting for those whom others wouldn't help.
San Diego: Home & Heart
As much as I valued the ambition of the East Coast, I felt the pull to come back home. San Diego has a rhythm and a soul that simply cannot be replicated.
I’m a local at heart. My days here are a mix of the city I love and the community I serve. To me, there’s nothing like a Wednesday evening at the Ocean Beach Farmers Market, the magic of ice skating on the beach at Coronado during the holidays, or the glow of Sunset Cliffs at dusk. You’ll often find me at a Padres game on a warm summer afternoon that spills into a night out in the Gaslamp.
But my life here is also defined by having a neighborly heart and showing up when it counts. Because of my background in psychology, I am currently a paraprofessional, working closely with children with autism and behavioral challenges. I believe we should all look out for one another, which is why I’ve prioritized being on the ground for my community—whether providing fire care relief for our neighbors during the Los Angeles wildfires, handing out food to military families during government shutdowns, or helping with local food and toy drives. That spirit of service even reaches internationally through my work with the Osu Children’s Home in Ghana. Whether I am building a business or standing by my neighbors, I don’t do anything halfway.
